Estimator (Portishead, Bristol) Working on a diverse range of remediation projects all over the country, we are looking to appoint an Estimator to support our extensive PQQ and tendering activites. Due to the technical nature of the business and the wide spread of skills and experience necessary to prepare tenders, the role involves significant interaction with other employees and directors across all the UK offices. Earthwork estimating and programming are key requirements. Experience of estimating on demolition and remediation projects would also be advantageous. Tenders range in value from several thousand to multi million pound schemes. Your key responsibilites and necessary attributes can be summarised as follows: * Estimating quantities, interpreting the scope of works required, reviewing contract doccumentation and pricing tenders either fully or in part; especially in respect of earthworks and contract preliminaries. * Close interaction with in-house CAD department, Remediation Managers, Contracts Managers and Project Directors. * You will be provided with extensive in-house support on technical expertise and design athough you will co-ordinate these activites on certain projects. You will have significant input into preparation of programmes (Microsoft Project) and compiling the overall tender submission. * You will be familiar with typical forms of contract such as NEC, ICE and JCT forms of contract. * You will identify and assist in the management of suppliers and sub contractors during tendering. * The role will involve site visits and UK wide travel. You will possess high standards in written and verbal communication. You will be IT literate and be able to contribute to the on-going development of the company's tendering activities. Electrical Technician An opportunity has arisen at our Sheffield office for an electrician or electrical technician to work for us on a national basis. The successful candidate will be a fully qualified electrician with relevant industrial experience and be up to date with the 17th edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations and qualified to install and test electrical installations. Whilst they do not have to have worked in the Remediation industry they will have worked in an industrial or construction environment or be used to working under difficult conditions on site. They should be experienced and skilled in the general programming and troubleshooting of Programmable Logic Controllers although we can offer training in specifics of the PLC’s we use. They will also be able to demonstrate experience of installing, testing and commissioning the electrical elements of motors, pumps blowers and generators and will be used to working with 3 phase supplies, inverters, relay based control panels etc. They will also be required to test electrical installations installed by others and provide assistance with the installation of temporary buildings on site. Design and build experience for control panels will be a distinct advantage as will flexibility in terms of assisting other members of the installation team with their duties and some mechanical experience.
