Brief
To restore and remediate a former landfill site and undertake remedial treatment by ex-situ biological methods. To provide cut and fill earthworks ensuring an earthworks balance.
Scope of Works
- Site strip and segregation of re-useable topsoil.
- Expedited cut and fill earthworks to building footprint to allow the commencement of piling.
- Cut and fill earthworks to remainder of the site.
- Nominal 60,000m3
of contaminated material for handling treatment and re-use. - Zero off site disposal (excluding 900 tonnes of U2 Material).
- Crushing, screening and sorting of soils.
- Ex-situ biological treatment of soils.
- Re-use to consultant prepared geotechnical specification.
- Work due to be completed in a 20 week programme with the subsequent classification of the material as non-hazardous after treatment and replacement under paragraph 19 exemption from waste management licensing.
