Site Works
VertaseFLI were appointed by the Client to undertake the demolition of an existing garage show room and vehicle maintenance building including the clearance of fly tipped materials, body parts and waste tyres, which remained on site.
Once the site structures has been demolished VertaseFLI remediated localised hot spots of lead contamination and removed the former on-site fuel tank complex and oil water interceptor.
Contaminated materials were consigned for off-site disposal at a licensed waste management facility.
Regulator Comments
The Contract completion Report was well received by the Regulator (Milton Keynes Borough Council) who commented that: . I am satisfied that the works were carried out in accordance with the remediation method statement… …that the works were carried out in accordance with the remediation statement as previously approved… …that the site is fit for its proposed purpose. Further we have no intention of taking any action in respect of ground contamination… …that the site has been removed from our list of potentially contaminated sites requiring further investigation, under Part IIA of the Environmental Protection Act 1990… …incidentally I would like to congratulate you on the high standard of your report, which is significantly better than the average report that crosses my desk… |
