VertaseFLI is one of the largest and most well respected remediation contractors in the UK. Our work encompasses many activities associated with the redevelopment or remediation of brownfield land including earthworks, civil engineering, groundworks, construction, demolition and the treatment of soils and groundwater.

We are currently seeking a technician to become part of our existing O&M team based at our workshop in Rotherham but with regular travel throughout the UK. You will be required to undertake a wide range of tasks, interacting with many different aspects of our business. Experience in the maintenance and fabrication of process-based land remediation equipment is preferred, but candidates with a suitable skill-set and a willingness to learn will be considered.

Relevant skills as a minimum would be those required for the general fabrication and alteration of equipment (basic welding, pipework assembly, pump and blower maintenance).  An electrical qualification, practical experience of electrical installation or commissioning would be of considerable benefit but is not a necessity.

The successful candidate must have a full driving license and will be confident, flexible and show strong commitment and ability to both work unsupervised and to take direction as the situation demands and have a high degree of health & safety awareness. They will also be able to think critically and consider the safety implications of their actions for themselves and others.

Are you an early-career environmental engineer / scientist working in the contaminated land industry and looking for an exciting opportunity to work for one of the largest and most technically qualified environmental remediation contractors in the UK? We are looking for an experienced candidate (minimum 1 – 2 years’ experience) to fulfil an environmental engineer role, providing technical support to our land remediation projects operating throughout the UK.

About the role                

We are looking for a degree qualified Environmental Engineer, to be based on sites across the UK. This role requires travel across the UK and staying away from home from time to time.

Our environmental engineers are required to interact with all elements of project and site management including technical, operational, commercial and health and safety. You will become involved with all stages of remediation schemes from initial design and mobilisation through to delivery and completion. Responsibilities will include a combination of office and site-based activities.

The role provides an excellent opportunity for career advancement into a number of differing areas.

About you

We are looking for someone:

  • Who has a relevant degree (environmental engineering, environmental science, geology, earth science, environmental management to name but a few)
  • A min of 1-2 years’ experience in the contaminated land industry
  • A keen and enthusiastic manner
  • With outstanding attention to detail
  • Able to multi task
  • Able to communicate well with many stakeholders

We are currently looking for a graduate/ trainee Quantity Surveyor to work mainly on our long term project based in Liverpool.  The successful canddiate would ideally need to be based around the Liverpool area or Sheffield/ Rotherham area.

We are looking for a flexible, keen and enthusiastic self motivating trainee / graduate QS as a full time role mainly on site, assisting our Commercial Director with all aspects of commercial adminstration for the project. 

You will need to be good at Maths! as well as competent with all Microsoft packages and IT and be willing to work towards a qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.

Remuneration will be commenserate with experinece, and you will be provided with all the necessary equipment and PPE for the role.  This is a great opportunity for someone who may thrive on working in a fast paced environment, working on an historic project!
